This week has been SO full of birthdays. My husband, our family friend, the pastor, and my son’s is later this week. I usually spend a ton of time baking during this time. Now, for my pastor I always make him a huge bowl of Peppermint Ice Cream, but this year, I bumped it up and made him both Red Velvet Brownies and ice cream.
When I first heard him talk about wanting some, I did some search and found a recipe online that was exactly what I was looking for. I am a girl who loves quick and easy and this is exactly that.
You will need the following ingredients —
Once you get your butter melted, you basically throw everything in a bowl and mix it together until you get it all combined. It will be super thick just like this —
Then, just spread it in a 9×9 pan sprayed with non stick cooking spray. Bake it in a 375 degree oven for about 25-30 minutes and you will wind up with these amazingly delicious Red Velvet Brownies.
This dessert is definitely on my “I’m going to make again” list. In fact, I think I am going to make it and my Peanutty Christmas Bark to take to our Christmas dinner in a couple of weeks.
Here is the recipe — hope you enjoy!
- 1 box of Red Velvet Cake Mix
- ¼ cup of brown sugar
- 1 whole stick of butter (1/2 cup) melted
- 2 eggs
- Mix all the above ingredients together. The mixture will be thick. Spread in a 9x9 pan sprayed with non stick cooking spray and then bake in a 375 degree oven for about 25-30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 30 minutes before slicing into squares.
